To Infinity and Beyond ABA
What is Applied Behavior Analysis?
ABA is a systematic approach to treating the symptoms of autism while increasing communication and decreasing maladaptive behaviors. It focuses on the fact that not being able to communicate is frustrating and kids will act out as a result. Hundreds of studies have demonstrated that ABA therapy can improve communication, social relationships, play skills, and self-care for children with autism. The techniques are also vital for helping children do well in school and even in employment situations. When researchers compare ABA with other early intervention or special education programs designed for children with autism, results consistently show that children who receive ABA treatment make greater improvements in more skill areas than children who participate in other interventions. Perhaps even more important, many parents of the children receiving ABA report a significant reduction in daily stress compared with parents of the children receiving other treatments.
What do we work on?
We use naturalistic and contrived teachings for learning opportunities. Some areas of expertise include:
Functional Communication Training: Teaching your child with Autism how to make their needs known and understood is an important part of the ABA process.
Skill Acquisition: If your child is struggling to master a specific skill, our ABA program will break down the process and help your child conquer the challenge like a champion.
Replacement Behavior: ABA Therapy methods promote positive behaviors through reinforcement.
ADL Skills: Everyday task can be specially difficult for kids with developmental delay. We use ABA Therapy to help your child manage everyday life tasks such as eating, dressing, brushing teeth, showering, etc.
Social Skills: ABA therapy can teach valuable skills to encourage them to better integrate in social environments with higher social expectations.
Executive Functioning: We work on deficits that may be preventing your child from learning
(like memory, self control and flexibility, and teach skills that will help your child succeed).
Caregiver Training (Because we are in this together!): Our therapists give hands-on training to caregivers so they can incorporate the new skills into daily routines and reinforce what’s been accomplished during therapy.

What are the steps involved in getting started with ABA therapy?
1) Contact To Infinity and Beyond ABA to discuss the specific needs of the child. We will then request forms to get a prior authorization to complete an assessment for submission.

3) A Behavior Improvement Plan (BIP) will be written which includes individual and family history,
skill set, target behaviors, measurable goals, and a detailed intervention plan.
4) There will be a bit of a wait (contingent on the approval process of the Funder)
5) Therapy will take place at agreed upon times and location.
6) Parents and caregivers will receive hands-on learning scheduled as needed.
7) Progress will be measured and graphed to display progress and assist in decision making for future interventions.
